The college has been awarded Letter of Intent from Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India vide letter No No. K-1 2052-9124 IZO2O-LH- (E-17 17 5) dated 28.01.2026.

I am pleased to introduce SM College of Veterinary Science and Animal Research, Mathura, the first and only private veterinary college in Uttar Pradesh. The institution has been established with a commitment to deliver high-quality veterinary education, clinical services, and community outreach, particularly in rural regions. The college is equipped with a state-of-the-art academic and clinical infrastructure, including Fully equipped laboratories and modern instructional facilities, smart class room, practical facilities, Adequate, well-qualified faculty and support staff for delivering quality education. Multi-specialty Veterinary Clinical Complex equipped with 800 mA X-ray machine, ultrasonography unit, physiotherapy facilities, Dedicated operation theatres for both large and small animals, supported by an ICU facility, Functional Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory for investigations, animal Indoor wards and a 24×7 treatment facility and well-arranged farmers’ resting area for comfort and support of rural livestock owners. The hospital associated with the college is actively serving the rural community by providing high-quality healthcare for both large and small animals. Our library offers both digital resources and printed books, supporting academic excellence. In addition, the college benefits immensely from its close proximity to a University Medical College, offering opportunities for collaboration in areas related to One Health, zoonotic diseases, and interdisciplinary research. To extend its services to the community, the college operates an Outreach Mobile Veterinary Clinic, providing field-level clinical services twice a week, thereby strengthening animal health delivery in underserved areas. Located in the rural region of Mathura district, the institution is rapidly growing and committed to serving a wide population of livestock owners with dedication and professionalism.

VETERINARY ANATOMY

The Department of Veterinary Anatomy serves as a dedicated academic division specializing in the gross and microscopic structures of different animal species,including domestic animal This Department delivers comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate curricula on skeletal, muscular, nervous, and visceral systems and clinical applications. Theoretical lectures integrate with practical dissections in equipped halls featuring microscopes, tissue processors, and specimen storage, aligning with Veterinary Council of India standards. Faculty pursues advanced investigations into comparative anatomy, embryogenesis, histology, and imaging modalities to elucidate structure-function dynamics in veterinary contexts.

LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

The Department of Livestock Production Management delivers comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate education on managing and management of cattle, buffalo, poultry, pigs, sheep, and goats, covering housing, feeding, behaviour, welfare, fodder production, farm economics, breeding, and health to boost productivity. The department integrates theory, practical training, and research to equipped veterinarians for efficient farm management and agricultural advancement. The College is equipped with a fully developed laboratory for Livestock Production and Management (LPM), which enables students to receive practical training and become well-acquainted with livestock and the instruments used for handling animals.

VETERINARY PHYSIOLOGY AND BIOCHEMISTRY

The Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry focused on studying physiological and biochemical processes in animals. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The department features four major laboratories—Physiology, Biochemistry, Analytical Equipment, and Climatology /Meteorology/to meet Veterinary Council of India standards.
